ROJO LOCOTM Performs With Or Without Latin Dance Instruction
Traverse City, MI, March 1, 2009 - ROJO LOCO is a popular Latin dance band that employs local musicians and brings out the local dancers wherever they perform. They have garnered lots of publicity, including being featured during the Cherry Festival... With the recent popularity of Dancing With The Stars and people interested in watching and/or learning a Tango or Salsa or Cha Cha Cha, I must say that ROJO LOCO is very entertaining and memorable for people of all ages, especially when Latin dance instruction is taught or an Argentine Tango demonstration is performed. Songs are performed LIVE in Spanish, Portuguese and English.

They regularly performed this past summer in the Traverse City area on a rooftop patio at Café Habana and on the 10th floor at the Park Place Hotel. ROJO LOCO has also performed at local wineries as well as community events, such as the Summer Solstice Open House at the Grand Traverse Village and the 2008 National Cherry Festival. In addition, ROJO LOCO was featured LIVE on the 9&10 News CBS Morning Show, 106.7FM’s “Mary in the Morning” show and 97.5FM. They have also been supported by local print publications, including the Northern Express, TC Business News, and GT Woman.
ROJO LOCO’s 2009 season has started off successfully with their first booking by Red Mesa Grill to celebrate Carnivale on February 24, 2009 (pictures are online). They have also been scheduled for a huge Cinco De Mayo performance (Tuesday, May 5, 2009) at the Terminal (formerly, Streeters) where there will be Mambo & Cha Cha Cha dance instruction, Argentine Tango demonstrations and live Latin dance music all night long from 8pm-2am! We hope to continue performing at the Terminal on Thursday nights throughout the summer to give everyone a chance to practice their new Latin Dance moves! ROJO LOCO was the vision of (Juan) Mateo Toler, who is the lead singer and lead guitar player. Other local musicians who have recently played as a part of the larger full-piece band include Kid on Electric Bass, Jason Schewe on Upright Bass, Dave Crider on Vibraphones, Arturo Mendez on Congas, Greg Vadnais on Latin percussion, DeDe Alderman on Timbales, and the Reverend Corey Sanderson on Congas. ROJO LOCO can be booked in any size, to fit any budget, and with or without Latin dance instruction. ROJO LOCO performs throughout Northern Michigan.
